Mike Wilson

Executive Vice President, Chief Operations Officer, C&F Finance

Mr. Wilson is a hands on executive that has been in the automotive and lending business since 1986. He has managed C&F’s growth from a $65 million portfolio with 35 employees to over $460 million with 125 employees. This included market expansion from Virginia only to 21 states while maximizing profits and complying with state and federal laws and regulations. Throughout his career, he has displayed strong people skills that complement his impressive financial and operational background. Having spent 13 years in automotive sales and service business prior to his transition to the auto finance space, he has a unique insight and perspective into both the auto lending and auto sales businesses.

Mr. Wilson’s belief in training and development had led him to invest in people throughout his career and develop a training and learning culture in the companies that he worked for. As founder of the C&F’s Leadership Development Program, he has recruited college graduates, and trained and developed them in all aspects of the business. Through this program, he has helped shape them in to successful managers. He developed C&F University which allows team members to take classes that allow them to better understand all aspects of the business and to grow as leaders. In 2022, Mr. Wilson became the Director of Training, Education and Development for C&F.   Mr. Wilson serves on the IARA Education Committee with a focus on IARA’s Certified Automotive Remarketer program.

He has been a panelist at Used Car Week on the topic of asset remarketing & technology and C&F’s industry leading ability to turn inventory, minimize expenses, & maximize sale price. The relationships forged with the key players in the industry have allowed him to create strong partnerships that have allowed C&F Remarketing to continue to grow.

Mr. Wilson is heavily involved in giving back to his community living out Virginia Tech’s motto “Ut Prosim” – That I May Serve. He is an Ambassador for the Navy SEAL Foundation, founding Board member and President of the Wellington Waves Swim Team, Chairman/Race Director of the Allen Stone Memorial Races to benefit the Navy SEAL Foundation for 24 years, original member of the Williamsburg United Athletics team pushing challenged athletes in running events, coaches youth sports, youth mentor for Operation 300 Gold Star camps, volunteer for Surfer’s Healing for Autism, and the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim which benefits the Navy SEAL Foundation.

Mr. Wilson has an MBA from Virginia Tech, a B.S. in Accounting from Old Dominion University, and a B.S. in Finance from Virginia Tech. He is an IARA Certified Automotive Remarketer and IARA ACT (Audit and Compliance training) certified. He also holds a certificate in Human Resource Management.
